For ANY driver of a PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE to pick up in the street, unless it is a service you have pre-booked!

For ANY driver of a HACKNEY VEHICLE to pick up in the street, if not licensed by the local authority in which that vehicle is located at that time! (Except pre-bookings)

All licensed drivers of Private Hire and *Hackney services should have attached to their person, displayed within view of their passenger/s a **badge similar to those shown here.

Evidence of the fact a driver is licensed to undertake PH work is signified by the PRESENCE of the above badge; the badge should be worn by the driver.

APPROVED LICENSED VEHICLE PLATES

A vehicle licensed for Private Hire work, MUST have a LICENSE PLATE attached to the REAR; with some authorities, the FRONT of the vehicle also, as displayed below.
