TAXI  INSURANCE 

It is a requirement to have in place the appropriate insurance within the Road Traffic Act 1988 . The 'Taxi' trade is naturally no exception. There IS a difference however, drivers of Private Hire vehicles MUST have the appropriate insurance in order to undertake such work. Social Domestic and Pleasure insurance is INSUFFICIENT cover for PH work.

The insurance industry saw unprecedented claims from drivers through the late 90's and into 2000; the continuing culture and inclusion in the reliance of Personal Injury claims has substantially contributed to the many instances of high prices being paid today. Unfortunately, such increased cost' s must be passed on to the insured, and subsequently to customers of the 'Taxi' trade through increased fares! 

When insurance premiums began to substantially increase during 1999, the NPHA were tasked with providing assistance to many drivers seeking to address their ever increasing insurance cost's, a service still offered today. Through this service, we have established excellent working relationships with many companies who seek to provide such cover within Nottingham, and in many cases throughout the UK.

Having developed this contact with local drivers has enabled us to provide wider support including:- sourcing quotations through to post-accident work. Such work engages us in a variety of matters ensuring both the driver,  Claims departments of Insurance Companies and others, obtain as clear a view and understanding so far as is practicable, to assist in achieving a fair and equitable solution.

In providing this support, copies of papers are kept from enquiry inception, right through to post-accident support should this arise. Drivers, together with our contacts have found such accessibility and support of immense benefit.
