Understanding The PH trade (May help in the service you receive)

As we have said elsewhere, it is in the interest of ALL PH companies to ensure customer satisfaction; such companies rely upon repeat trade.

PH companies who try to provide a quality of service are affected by the same problems as everyone else. When you feel you have been let down, it could be for one, or more of the following reasons.

When A Booking Is Taken

Customers are advised by operators with information that is known at the time of taking a booking. 

How many cars are working

               How many cars are available for bookings

                              Where the cars are

                                             When cars will be free

 

Unfortunately, incorrect information is occasionally given to customers at the time of receiving a booking; this can be due to a telephone operator, but is often due to INACCURATE or INADEQUATE booking information. Such errors can and does influence the efficiency of the service provided.

 

Causes Of Delays Or Early Arrivals

    Errors in a booking taken incorrectly

        Operator misheard instructions

            Customer gave incomplete information

                Accidents

                    Un-known road works

                        Heavy traffic [A common and increasing problem]

                            Customers giving the wrong *telephone number when booking

                                Vehicle breakdowns

                                    Customers changing destinations during active bookings 

                                    [Placing follow-on cars in the wrong place] 

 

                                        Customers not advising of multi-drop requirements

                                            Cancellations ..............etc

What Can You Reasonably Expect?

Your booked car to arrive approx. 10 minutes (1)BEFORE and AFTER the *advised time. *The exception being at very busy times. (Not withstanding comments made in 'Causes Of Delays Or Early Arrivals above)

(1) PRE-BOOKED TIME SPECIFIC cars should arrive prior to the booking, but for practical reasons may be slightly late for the reasons given under 'Causes Of Delays in Arriving'. Some companies may ring advising customers of delays, providing you have given your telephone number at the time of making your booking. 

(1) Some companies may make a nominal charge for this service).

 

Complaints are few, but may fall within the following categories.

    Car/s delayed

        Driver took the long way round

            Driver did not know the way

                Driver charged me too much

                 *Car un-clean. *Inside-Outside. (*Weather dependant)

                        Driver unclean. Driver un-sociable

If you do not advise the PH company of your dissatisfaction, they cannot take corrective action.

Please, carefully consider the nature of your complaint before proceeding. Most complaints are satisfactorily resolved by the appointed base.

In the event of any complaint concerning the driver or vehicle, PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE DRIVERS BADGE NUMBER (The Badge should be visible within the car), AND OR, A NOTE OF THE 'TAXI PLATE fixed to the vehicle. LITTLE CAN BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION. Having done so, follow the procedure as set out on 'Your Views Page.
