Regrettably in today's society, we have seen an increase in those people who would seek to take advantage with peoples security in a variety of ways, especially the more vulnerable. We hope by offering the following information will assist to allay any fears you may have. PLEASE HEED OUR ADVICE.

Private Hire and Hackney drivers are licensed by Local Authorities. 

During the licensing process, a number of checks are undertaken, INCLUDING with the CRIMINAL RECORDS BUREAU. (CRB)

Whilst no guarantee can be offered, safety in a PH vehicle as a passenger is probably safer than walking down the road.

ALL pre-booked work is logged by the company with whom you make your booking. This means that ALL JOBS / DRIVERS can be traced. 

Should you have a genuine concern, please ALWAYS contact the base with whom you placed your booking.

The safety of passengers is paramount to every licensed driver and company within the Private Hire trade. Providing a car is pre-booked, customers should have no reason for concern.

We sincerely trust our advice will be accepted by customers; it is offered with YOUR safety in mind.

In ALL walks of life, there are the unscrupulous individuals who seek to take advantage of others.  You would not, under normal circumstances, *get into a strange car. 

WHY THEREFORE DO SOME PEOPLE DO *SO AFTER A NIGHT OUT?

It is opportune to mention at this point that when we talk about vulnerability, this also applies to the PH drivers. Working predominantly on their own, exposes them to unscrupulous individuals who would seek to take advantage of this fact. The risk taken by drivers has increased many fold over the last few years, with drivers being attacked both within and outside the vehicle.

In an effort to address this problem, it is anticipated that we shall see the presence of credit card reader devices, and an increase in the use of in-car CCTV  in the not too distant future. 

YOUR security and peace of mind is foremost in the minds of reputable Private Hire companies and drivers. 

PH companies rely upon repeat business, therefore it is in their interest to ensure your requirements are satisfied in every possible manner.

Customers need to know when they book a PH service, they can do so in TOTAL confidence.

PRE-BOOKING with a local reputable PH company is YOUR  first step, and a pre-requisite to ensuring safe travel..

WHAT DOES PRE-BOOKING PROVIDE?

1. Peace of mind

(1) All booked work is logged >>>> All drivers work can be (1) checked

Some companies have Satellite tracking installed enabling the whole of the trip to be logged on computer screen. 

(1) Print-out's can be made available (To officials) in the event of any queries.

2. Suitable for the purpose

The assurance that drivers and vehicles are subjected to the appropriate (2) Local Authority checks.

(2) Suitability of drivers to undertake the work and that vehicles are safe to travel in.

3. YOUR assurance of insurance. 

Drivers must have a special, and in many cases, a very expensive (3) insurance in place to enable them to carry out such work. 

(3)Such insurance cost's many times more than the average car insurance.

4. Complains are *few

Should you have a need to complain, PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE DRIVERS BADGE NUMBER, AND OR, A NOTE OF THE 'TAXI PLATE fixed to the vehicle. Having done so, follow the procedure as set out on (4)'Not Satisfied' page. *The Nottingham PH trade carryout approx. 45-60,000 jobs per week. (Depending upon the time of year).

With the above measures in place, and in the event of (4) complaint, enables the company with whom you have booked your car, to address your concerns in an efficient manner. Refer: 'Not Satisfied' page.

*IT IS ILLEGAL to be picked up by a PH service in the street which you have not previously booked. 

The checks mentioned in (1) above, DO NOT, at the time of releasing this Website, apply to Hackney services.
